Okay so! I wanted to give my little review on this app. Opening statement: it's amazing.

In-depth statement: a lot better than Animal Jam Original (idk what else to call it). Here's why:

Mia's List of Reasons PW is Better Than the Original

(In no particular order)

1. Limited membership applications 

Unlike Original, PW has very limited circumstances where being a member actually makes a difference. Everything "member" like is bought using sapphires, and a fun way to earn those is by completing the missions on your game menu. Each time you reach a goal, you earn sapphires. I believe it goes 1, 10, 15. What I really love is that you don't need a membership to have a variety of animals and outfits.

2. Clothing

The clothing is just... better! It interacts with your animal. Some of the wings move, headbands glitter and move around your head, and overall there are some adorable designs. Like the blueberry earrings for instance. I'm in love with them!

Also, there's an added feature that allows you to save a particular outfit into your wardrobe to select if you really love your look and can't be bothered finding everything again (because really, who has time for that?). 

3. In-app games

There are SO MANY MORE GAMES! And they are tonnes of fun! Not only can you still play all your favourites - Derby, Falling Phantoms, Best Dressed etc, but there are HEAPS more to choose from. Not only that, but all of them deal gems very generously, and you can earn prizes as you play (as aforementioned). 

4. The Graphics 

EVERYTHING IS SO DANG CUTE. My goodness lemme tell you, when I first used my goat... and watched it hop around... it's tiny little hooves clip clopping... it is so, so small,,, I died (from happiness). Just so cute.

The shadows are fantastic. Have you noticed? Even if you have a pair of wings that are moving, like the Mira ones (you get at level 11 btw so don't trade anything for them fellas), the shadow applies that and gah. It's just really cool. The game moves very well with your animal too. The screen angles are fantastic, and it's angled in a way that you barely notice it is a mobile version. What I mean by this is, when you play on your laptop for example, the screen is slightly tilted, whereas your phone is up straighter. The app shows a slightly tilted view, like that of a laptop, for an easier adjustment from laptop to phone. Something I noticed and I think it's cool if you don't its fine sorry for the rant. 

Also!!! Each animal has it's own little dance thing it does. In the Original, when you stand still, your animal will just breathe. In PW, an Arctic Wolf will look at its feet real cute, a cougar will look around real cute, a goat will do its adorable lil skipskip dance knowwhatimsayin; it's just really well done. 

(I'll figure out how to record screen but for now it's a bit too hard for me lol)

5. Packs

Packs have always existed in the Original, but you could never really do anything with them, except "fight" with another pack by calling them doodoo heads and playing 'mummies and daddies'. Now, not only can you join a pack (with a different hideout depending on the alpha), the app alerts you when other members are playing, when other members are at the hideout, and there is an in-game leaderboard because you can actually do things with you pack, like the forest hunt.

Moving on,,, 

6. Art 

Submitting a piece of artwork that looks passable is so much easier on a mobile. The mouse was KILLER on the laptop and not everyone has a touch-screen or a drawing tablet or whatever you talented people use.

Wow! You guys are fantastic at these things. I tried to do a little somethinsomethin

(just realised this is actually from Original but my point still stands)

 and thought it was pretty good, and then I saw others and I was... speechless. Absolutely fantastic job.

Then there's Appari... had no idea he still existed. Do people still, follow him? isn't he like, in his 20's now? 

7. Overall game play/flow

I love how non-members and newbies can still become "rare" if they spend enough time playing. Every day there are prizes available in the treasure hunt thing, and you can get the animals for that whether you are a member or not. I saw the other day a spiked wristband available for the arctic wolf one. I didn't win it but you get what I mean.

And prizes can be won through the games as mentioned, also through the pack forest hunts and just from levelling up (another awesome feature). It makes it a lot less daunting for new players. 

8. The map

When you click on an island, you are greeted with an icon to take you to any shops, pet stores, games, whatever that is there if you don't want to go to the township. I know Original has this feature as well, but this one is easier and nicer looking. 

Room for Improvement

(I am in no way dissing this game, it's awesome, I have left these in suggestion boxes in-game :))

1. Clothing/furniture items available for sale

100% understand why there aren't many, because the game is so new. Still needs more stuff though. 

2. Tutorial!!

The Original has a tutorial everyone goes through to teach you the ropes. I would have appreciated that heaps with this game because I was really stuck on a few things (packs, games, trading, treasure hunts etc). Maybe that's just cause I'm a slow learner though, but I'm sure littler kids would appreciate it as well :)

3. Water Worlds

One thing I noticed (surprisingly because they are so dead on Original) is the lack of Crystal Reef, Bahari Bay, Kani Cove and deep Blue. They would be awesome to play though! It's be like flying because there are hardly any space limitations lol. Also it being quiet is good for people that just want one-on-one chill sessions in a spoopy environment. Like it had shipwrecks man! Why it's not more popular I'll never know. 

4. Daily Spin 

A daily spin for sapphires would be 🔥

Of course this isn't everything, there is a lot to say and a lot that is awesome about this game. I was sceptical at first, but now I fully understand why it is so popular. If you think of anything else you like/needs improvement, or simply love this app, be sure to mention it ;)

Okay, so this makes me unreasonably mad for the following reasons:

1. A half-off sale NOW? REALLY??? NOW when these animals have been released for ages and everyone already has them, or have spent all their diamonds on them already so they can't even afford a half-off sale?

2. HYENA'S AREN'T NEW, OKAY? THEY JUST CAME BACK FROM "TRAVELLING" WHICH IS YOUR LAME EXCUSE TO MAKE PEOPLE ANTICIPATE THEIR RETURN AND WANT TO BUY THEM honestly I don't actually know why you do it but that wouldn't surprise me

Why couldn't you do this whenever an animal is released? Why can't you say "Hey jammers! In celebration of the newly released Falcon, you can purchase it for half the normal price for a limited time!" or "Guess what jammers? The Hyena's are back from travelling! In honour of their return, you can purchase a Hyena for half-price for a limited time! Jam on!" 

Wouldn't that make more sense?

What I Think Of The "Improved" Chat

If you haven't noticed already, the chat is definitely... Not as good as hoped. Here are the reasons why I think so

This ad clearly states that Jammers who follow the AJJAM rules will be given more freedom, whereas people who break the rules will be given more restrictions. 

There are several lies in that one sentence. 

For players who follow the rules, this chat is extremely difficult, with less freedom than before, and longer, more frustrating messages if you are typing something that's not even wrong

More chat freedom, huh?

As if they're going to review the message, I mean come on. 

Here are some of the things you can same without punishment, or any warning message of any kind. Just remember, AJ said that jammers breaking the rules would be punished. 

And some others, but I think you get my point. 

You've got some weird rules going here, AJ. 

Maybe they'll fix it. Maybe not. 

Basement of Secrets

So there's this new thing at the place and there's a new room apparently or something

ok I'll explain it better

There's a new room that was 'discovered' and pretty much everyone else knows about in the Chamber of Knowledge. 

That basement door has been inaccessible since the beginning of the game. That is, until now. The process is very difficult though. If you try to just walk over the door, nothing happens. Instead, you have to click on a very specific part of the world map and will be teleported into the room. Makes sense. It would have been very difficult to access the room the other way, wouldn't it?

Just click in that general area until you get to the room lol

This is where it takes you, and where I had a very interesting conversation with two wolves who I found to be extremely annoying:

Me "Wow this is cool"

Wolf 1 "Hiya mum"

"?"

"Can I have some cookies"

Naturally, I decided to role with it

"Of course you can, but they're still hot so be careful"

"Thanks mum :D"

"Just don't get any crumbs on the floor"
"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure, why not."

"Who are you and WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?"

"Isn't anyone allowed here?"

"Strager Danger!"

"Learn how to spell, genius"

Wolf 2: "You should change your outfit looks funny"

Obviously a very sad attempt at standing up for his friend

"How dare you speak that way to Ender Man!" 

I thought humour might defuse the situation, which I didn't even start

"Then why is your name Fabulous?"

I'm thinking 'She needs medical help'

"Yeah, aren't you a boy?"

"No, I'm not, and I thought you weren't talking to stragers" 

I deliberately spelt strangers wrong to see if I could knock some whit into that peanut brain.

"But you said you were Ender MAN, that means your a guy"

Shocker

"Yeah, I thought you said you were a man"

": pours water on fabulous I don't see no man:" because that totally made sense

"Haven't you ever heard of craftmine?"

"Yeah"

"Then why are we even having this conversation?"

"STRANGER DANGER"

"Yay, you learnt to spell :D"

":gives a gold star:"

"We don't talk to strangers"

"Yeah"

And then they left, thank goodness

Anyway, there's a store in there if you click on the junk pile

These are the items for sale, and the shop hasn't been named yet. I predict it will be called: "Basement of Secrets Shop"

Very creative I know, thank you.
